Oakland = $15.00 per $1000
Piedmont = $13.00 per $1000
Pinole = $5.50 Per $1,000
Richmond = $7.00 Per $1,000
San Leandro = $6.40 per $1000
San Pablo = $7.00 Per $1,000
To figure how much you will have to pay take the sale price in thousands and multiply the $ amount above. Example sold for $452,000 in Oakland. You multiply 452 X 15 = $6,780.oo Since this cost is typically split 50/50 between buyer & seller half would be $3,390.oo each.
Both the County of Alameda and Contra Costa have a transfer tax. Use the above example as a guide. The tax is $1.10 per Thousand dollars of the sale price. Normally a seller paid closing cost.
